Ministry of Clouds Riesling 2016, Clare Valley, Australia
Termed a ‘virtual winery’ Julian Forewood and Bernice Ong seek out the very best grapes from different regions of Australia in order to make refined wines that are pure and expressive.
Quite simply, this is an excellent Clare Valley Riesling from these wonderful producers.
It shows pronounced aromas on the nose, lots of pure citrus fruit notes, lemon, lime, grapefruit, complemented by additional mineral and slightly floral notes on the palate.
Crisp and dry with structure and a refreshing acidity, enjoy now or cellar for further development.
Of all the many grape varieties, Riesling is the most transparent expression of a vineyard site. We have long loved the more crystalline expressions of Clare Valley Riesling, which embrace the exquisite risk inherent in delicacy and fragility. Never a wine about winemaker ego, or manhandling in the winery, just purity… Please handle gently.
Bright lemon appearance. Intense aromas of grapefruit, limes on the nose. Wonderful structure, racy acidity but full of fruit to back it. Long finish.
